Testing
Comprehensive Blood Chemistry
In my practice, I utilize blood chemistry panels to recognize patterns using functional ranges, in order to identify potential deficiencies and imbalances.
What’s the difference between functional vs. conventional blood labs?
-
Conventional blood chemistry labs use a predetermined pathological range to identify and diagnose medical conditions.
-
I do not diagnose or treat. I am looking at your blood work purely from a functional perspective and am looking for imbalances we can correct using nutritional strategies before they become pathology.
-
I use an optimal, or functional, range. This is the range within which people perform and feel their very best. When one is outside of the optimal range, it means you are trending toward imbalance. Our work is to restore homeostasis before anything becomes a bigger and more chronic issue.

GIMAP Stool Test
At-home Stool Test. The GI-MAP (Microbial Assay Plus) is unique in the field of comprehensive stool testing. It relies on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi & other pathogenic imbalances in the gut. The GI-MAP provides an overview of the entire gut microbiome, providing information on both good bacteria & any unwanted overgrowth of other pathogens. It also provides markers for digestion, absorption, inflammation, & immune function. It tells a lot about gut health, and from gut health, we can learn a lot about the overall wellness of an individual.
From the results, I look for imbalances & patterns. I am then able to create a wellness protocol & plan specific to the individual.
